Dad's Birthday Card

As promised, in June...Summer is so busy on the farm, but enough excuses...
Here is the card I made for my dad's 80th Birthday!

I'm ashamed to say I've been away sooo long!
I hope you will think it was worth the wait.

1. Cut a 7X6 1/4 inch piece of cardstock

2. Score 1 inch vertical lines beginning at the top, 3 inches and 4 inches from the left edge; repeat at the bottom.

3. Cut horizontally from scored lines 1 inch and vertically
4 1/4 inches. Make sure you don't cut over your scored lines. This will create a "hinge".
Below...you will see the "naked truth".

Cut a 6 3/4X6 inch piece of your choice of DSP.

I cut an opening in the DSP slightly larger than I cut from my cardstock. Starting only 3/4 inch from the edge of the paper but my opening is 3 1/4X4 1/2 inches.

Now adhere your DSP to your cardstock.
Fold card along scored lines so that left side is on top.

Stamp your choice of image and adhere to the front of card.

My opening is 3X4 1/4 inches...instead of the 2 3/4 X 4 1/4 inches in the diagram

here is the twist.

Now add your sentiment to the card back and
Voila!
Which also happens to be the SU stamp set I used.
I LOVE this set, don't you?

I  hope to bring you all kinds of new ideas in the next while.
Thank you for looking and come back soon!

Happy Stamping!

  1. Hey Pixie - this is probably one of those card types that looks hard but isn't. It would be great if you could do a quick demo at our meeting on aug 28th - pretty please?!
